Enjoy a gentle early morning e-bike ride around Lake Hayes to see if you can spot pukeko, crested grebes, black shag, New Zealand scaup, white-faced herons, black swans, kingfishers, waterfowl and coot.
November is a great month for bird watching and you’ll be guided by ecologist Dawn Palmer and bike pro Tony Moore. Binoculars supplied or bring your own. Numbers very limited on this ride.
The ride includes breakfast back in Arrowtown at the Dishery Cafe where you can relax and watch the bike village come alive from your special table.
Riders depart Arrowtown Saturday and Sunday at 5.30am (sunrise is at 6am) back by approx. 9.00am. Distance around 17 kilometres. Some road riding to get there and then mostly gentle riding with a short narrow part that Tony can help you with, if required. Grade 2
